End of the Week Links — 1/11/09

–> Six Word Stories is a neat site inspired (I believe) by Ernest Hemingway’s challenge: create a story using only six words. His famous story read, “For sale: baby shoes, never used”. This site features thought-provoking six word stories by many authors including literary-heavy weight Margaret Atwood.
–> Over at Astarte’s Circus, Octogalore takes a look at Jennifer Aniston’s recent GQ cover and shares her thoughts on how women’s bodies are perceived as they age.
–> An article by Project Runway finalist Laura Bennett was mentioned recently on Shapely Prose. I read the article and thought it was hilarious and persuasive. Read the article, entitled “My War Against Food Nazi Moms”, here.
–> Is the outdated “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy of the U.S. military finally being removed? Check out this post on Donklephant & watch the video.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Do you have any links to share?

I had to come up with a 6 word story for an internship I had a year ago. It was something like, “English Major– now have writer’s block”.
My War Against the Food Nazi Moms was great! Even though going organic is a good idea, that woman took it too far. I can’t imagine a life without cheetohs, but I’m sure it would be the pits.
thanks for providing the link to Astarte’s Circus. her article was both informative and personal, and i enjoyed it very much!
happy weekend, rotten little girls! <3
Jackie — I’m glad you liked the links. I like your story! I had to do one in school ages ago but I don’t remember it :(
