We have a history in our country where, if a person is half black or a quarter black, etc, they are just referred to as black. So you raise an interesting point (whether you meant to or not): Obama is making huge strides towards equality and the end of racism by becoming our next President. However, racism is far more insidious and pervasive than any of us comprehend on a daily basis. Why refer to race at all? Why judge on the basis of skin color?

It’s an intense debate that I won’t go into now, but you’ve given me some food for thought. Thanks for the comment.
