End of the Week Links — 9/7

–>Does Liz Phair only resonate with white, upper-middle class women? Can we claim that one musical artist is universally inspiring to feminists? Read this post on Feminste and Kate Harding’s response on her blog, Shapely Prose. Definitely a thought-provoking, controversial topic.

–>Can’t seem to follow your New Year’s Resolutions? Want to remember to get to the gym or write that paper by next Monday? Here’s a cute & helpful site I found recently: Hassle Me. This site sends you pesky e-mails that remind you to feed the cat or anything else you need to get done! It’s a virtual kick in the butt to get started on whatever it is you’re not doing.

–>Here at Rotten Little Girls, we often focus on the negative aspects of human nature. So if you’re like us, and like knowing about the random, the offbeat, and the slightly rotten, here is the site for you. It’s called “Today in Rotten History” and it tells you odd facts that occurred in history. For example, today is the 12th anniversary of Tupac’s death. Yeah, that’s a little morbid, but it’s interesting to know.

–>If you remember I linked several weekends ago to a blog that scans pictures of defaced dollar bills. Here’s the version for all you book worms out there! Altered Books is fascinating, filled with creatively destroyed book pages that are thought provoking and even beautiful.

–>We’re big fans of the environment here, and hate to see it becoming one big polluted, over-populated mess. Probably even more practical than our post about buying used/green clothing (which just feeds into our consumption culture, no matter how nicely) is this post by Shannon about living green. Check it out, she’s got some really good tips.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
